This is an emotional story about people of Kazakhstan who continue their lives despite a difficult oncological diagnosis. An artistic understanding of the experiences and sensations of these people who are crossing a new line of their lives. We invite visitors of the exhibition to walk a joint path with the heroes who overcame cancer and circumstances. We do hope that through the sensory experience of art everyone will have the opportunity to grow empathy and sensitivity to themselves.

The barrier, insurmountable obstacle, fear of facing the unknown – all these feelings are evoked by the installation of Bakhyt Bubikanova that welcomes you at the exhibition "And then, life ...". Often people who have known about their oncological diagnosis describe their experiences with such paints. We believe that starting the exhibition with such overcoming will encourage each of you to open up for a challenging conversation about the patient and the path to recovery.

An illness is a reminder of our physicality. A significant part of our exhibition is devoted to physicality. The works of Aruzhan Zhumabek and Georgy Tryakin-Bukharov explore the emotional connection between the personality and the body, what ways of interaction and the nature of relationship between our consciousness and the physical body we choose.

A series of collages by Askhat Akhmedyarov illustrates the state of panic on the edge of paranoia that is caused by contact with serious medical procedures. In a state where your well-known world is being tested, all your subconscious fears emerge and take on hypertrophied forms.

Having left alone with a sense of mortality a person begins to know him/herself, reveal his/her real personality and realize his/her potential. Photo portraits collected from different circumstances by Oleg Zuyev and scripts by Oxana Akulova do tell documentary stories of three heroines who faced cancer.

The painting by Moldir Sagyndykova became the final accent of the exhibition. Homage to the famous work of Henri Matisse "Dance", performed in bright colours, celebrates life. This work gives hope and sets you up for joy. We believe that this feeling will fill you here and now.
